Thanks Lobbo shoutbox does have appealing qualities, and if a decision goes ahead for a vote\poll and the results reflects the majority of opinions so far then some form of trial might be in the offing .....

I originally thought of one for this site to:

-Boost user activity
-grant live discussion on current events
-Invite non-members for quick commentary

All this being because the boards are rather slow in Utada's (LONG LONG)off-season. Whether the boards are actually moving or not regulars would naturally check in knowing that someone could have at least left something in the box. Shoutbox discussion can be moved to boards at will of members and command of mods if it has gotten to big for the box.

The thing I can find being is a issue is topic flow. What topics can the box be used for is in question because of how inactive Hikaru often is. However in concert season or during live appearances, it can be used as a news feed.

Please explain clearly and in detail how Shoutbox will interact in conjunction with the forums,.....

What will be the advantages?? .........this is important for people to understand......

None of this makes any sense ..... Can we please be crystal clear on what is being proposed .....

Actually i saw some news related to Hikki on Twitter a few weeks ago. Just an article said, one of Korean group singer also listen to Utada Hikaru, but i don't post it on the forum... my bad.

Why not make a polling for UtadaNet Member or non member ,whether they like to add Shout Box or not. I know members here also read this thread just lazy to post comment.

If many member like it, well there you go Q will add "shout box" here.

Just one thing from me if the "Shout Box" out of control, I hope Q consider to removed it.

i think that would be great. but the thing with that is, i dont want it to end up being where all the hikki news would be announced/discussed - hikki news should go in the forums, where there is a better organization and history for it. if something is just announced in the shoutbox, it would dissappear after X number of lines.

But to be clear - I think this might work, will likely try it. Right now, just looking for more thoughts from ppl

Would shoutbox impact on members posting comments on the forum?

A detrimental effect would be to see the number of posts and comments melt away in favour of a shoutbox tool .......it would seem prudent to first 'trial' shoutbox and assess ongoing cause and effect....

Certain characteristics this application offers could enhance utadanet members enjoyment tremendously ......

hmm so at first i wasnt really sure about this idea ...
i mean how does it really differ from just the forum or having a crap thread
or even the twitter box ...

hmm, but after reading some of the other comments, of it being more like a chat that isnt entirely live and people can see what was said previously ...
i think i would be willing to try and put one up and see how things go
...as long as it doesnt become a spam thing, becomes under-used, or gets constanly mis-used

oh and the chat #utada_hikaru thing was used a lot more before UtadaNet started and during our first couple years ... but the regulars just slowly stopped using irc and logging on it
(ahh, it was a good place for files XP)

You dont need to censor what u say about snow. [although he is a vengeful god (lol)] hes a big boy and hes not gonna throw some tantrum, so theres no need to delete for his sake~
