Wait, isn't that Lena Park dubbed "Utada Hikaru of Korea"?

I hope not

I once heard her live.... idk why people think she has the voice of angel it's HORRIBLE... my friend, sister and I were trying to plug our ears and could not believe how annoying it was

If I was to pick anyone to consider as the second Utada Hikaru from all the artist mentioned before, I think I would pick Jasmine (plus she is an Utada Hikaru fan, i think).... but even then there is no other Utada Hikaru...

well I'm hoping that Utada has a daughter one day and she becomes the next Utada Hikaru

Junie reminds me of Yui not Utada Hikaru

I know right?!!

The only time I'll believe in a Second Coming of Utada Hikaru is if she one day has a singing child ^^

Yea! I totally agree with you!!

And we all know THAT'S not true.

I like YUI. I do feel that she lacks emotion in her singing and lyrics though, like there is a wall there that she separates herself from people. I wish she opened up more. I'm not a fan of her voice though, and I wish she stuck with harder rock sound.
She's actually doing extremely well. Her latest album sold a LOT.

I don't know much about Lena Park. Does she write her own songs? I really think only singer-songwriters should be compared with each other. You can't compare a pop idol with a songwriter.

It's so weird how everyone gets called "the next Utada"

Bonnie Pink is piano-driven pop
YUI is a guitar-driven pop-rock
Utada is pop-R&B
Shiina Ringo is just... crazy. Yeah, let's go with that.
Ayaka is folk-pop

BoA is dance-pop

I think the closest to a "new Utada" is JASMINE. They both sing pop-R&B

Shiina is Shinjuku-kei...they gave her her own genre back in 2000 from the critical success of Shouso Strip.

Well, honestly I don't think there will be any 2nd Utada.
Utada Hikaru is the one and only.

^ As what Lunatic said, I remember Ayaka was called the 2nd Utada during the "I believe" era and the time when I was watching "Zettai Kareshi & Last Friends" lol.

^ LoBFCanti - I feel the same with BoA. If it was Hurricane Venus in her American debut, then somehow it may gain supporters because it was more of Western-like than Eat You Up.

^ Dark_Armed_Dragon: I may say when it comes to fame, yes. But BoA is totally unparalleled with Utada, IMO.

It seems like YUI is gaining popularity from what I've heard.

Why not change the title "Junie a new artist under EMI's label" instead assume her as a new Utada, where actually we didn't knew her style. I believe many artist have talent to compose music and also a writer, well Bonny Pink i believe more Jazzy than pop.

Edit: nothing unique on her voice, too much remind me of YUI

I don't feel YUI has anything spectacular about her. She has her good songs but must of the time I can say I've heard very similar. Fukuoka represent though, I wish her all the luck.

BoA is pissing me off lately.
