all i ever heard was the derogatory form since i was told that noob is never used to refer to a newbie, misinformed i guess. sorry for over-reacting

Newbie --> noob. It can be understood as a shorter term for that word. Also as that nerdy derogatory term he was obviously understanding it to be. I said nothing wrong. |

I don't know any Japanese myself =/. I'm trying to learn it but since I already know some Cantonese it's a strange transition by both written and spoken.
