Eurovision Song Contest 2010 took place last Saturday (29th) in Oslo Norway.... However young fans of Eurovision will never have seen my Dads DVD collection of nineties Irish sitcom Father Ted, in one of the episodes the Republic of Ireland enters a song entitled ?My Lovely Horse? performed by a pair of tonally challenged priests in a cynical attempt to avoid the financial cost of staging the event the following year:

Now I am not suggesting that the UK adopted the same tactic this year but one has to ask why the UK has come last on 3 occasions in 8 years!!....this year attempt was ironically entitled ?That sound good to me? amassing just 10 votes coming last, written by Pete Waterman and Mike Stock remembered for managing as well as writing songs for Kylie Minogue?s fledgling career:

I love the Eurovision song contest for it spectacle and is great fun, take Spain entry for instance a waltz accompanied by a somersaulting clown plus an assortment of peculiarly dressed dancers. The absurdity and craziness of this performance was highlighted when the stage was invaded by a man in a costume just as bonkers as the real performers, viewers did not realise that he wasn?t part of the act.....Spain were allowed to perform their song twice ....check this out and remember 125,000,000 viewers clocked this:
