Omfg I can't believe she doesn't have a topic yet! Argh.

Well, here's a little background on Yuna:

She was raised in Hawaii (I think her family moved there, though), and she's bilingual. Her family ran a restaurant... She used to sing to Mariah Carry songs... Made great test scores so her mother disapproved over her going into a musical career...

Her songs are very reminiscent of American pop, especially Stay for Love and Losin'. But usually she has pretty generic ballads.

Truth

She only has one album out, and that's HEART (which probably every J-pop artist (except Hikki) has an album named HEART or something that has HEART in the title).

Interestingly (and disappointingly), only her A-sides appeared on HEART. I was saddened deeply because one of my favorite songs of hers (JOURNEY) didn't appear on it. :(

As for her voice, she isn't a total extreme like Ayu or Hikki (either having a high-pitched voice or a low-pitched voice), and she's kind of like BoA. Only better at holding out notes and carrying a tune. (Don't get me wrong. I like BoA, but her voice usually doesn't do anything for me.) And she doesn't sound like Fergie like Koda Kumi does, either (which is a good thing). She has a very clear voice, you see. It's not raspy or anything.

The only real downside to Yuna is her poor sales, but it's probably related to her very bland personality... I swear, she hasn't really made herself stick out as 'shy' or not. She's just kind of there. Like a lump. A lump with a good voice.
