It can be hard for performers who are wildly popular elsewhere in the world to make it big in the U.S. -- just ask Kylie Minogue or Robbie Williams. Singer-songwriter Utada has sold millions of albums in Japan, but she's still largely unknown in the U.S. The new album "This Is the One" is the latest attempt to break through into the American market for the 26-year-old, who was born in New York City and raised part-time in Tokyo. The breezy new release, co-produced by Utada with hitmakers Tricky and Stargate, fuses glossy pop songcraft with urban beats.
