へ means to head in the direction of. So you could say 日本へ行きましょう it would mean lets head in the direction of nihon, impling that nihon could or could not be your destination, but that is the direction you are going. likewise とろへ手紙を行きました the letter is going to toro, is saying the letter is headed in the direction of toro. And on last example どこへ means what direction.
わたくし is still used today. It is a male only reference to oneself (like ore, boku, etc...) it is a humble term. It is used to lower oneself to the listener, it the ame thing as giving respect. For example the boss of a company uses watakushi to his employees, to show them respect. |
