This question has been troubling the UEFA for some years, UEFA is proceeding with a disciplinary case against Eduardo after he went down in the area under challenge from the goalkeeper and won a penalty in last week's champions league draw. What has inflamed the whole situation and ignited Arsenal's fury is the two-game Champions League suspension handed down to Eduardo da Silva for diving has been deepened by confirmation from UEFA sources that any player who commits the same offence and is seen by the referee will escape with no greater punishment than a booking. Arsenal are considering an appeal against the ban, which stands to rule out Eduardo from the Champions League group ties against Standard Liege and Olympiakos!! One can understand Wengers feelings of injustice and persecution, and Wenger strongly believes that the governing body's processes have been inconsistent and flawed. Trouble is Eduardo was found guilty by an independent disciplinary panel of "deceiving the referee", and the Ref Manuel Mejuto Gonz?lez, has stood by his decision to award the penalty, but UEFA decided to refer the case to its disciplinary unit. It can do so under the little-used law 10(1)(c), which permits it to revisit incidents containing alleged ?deceptions? or ?simulations?, even if the official feels that he has got the decision right at the time, or even upon reflection. The irony for Arsenal is that if Gonz?lez felt that he had been deceived at the time and booked Eduardo, UEFA would have been satisfied and left it at that?Football a funny old game sometimes. Ronaldo, well lets cast our minds back to last May and the Champions league final against Barcelona, Alex Ferguson admitted his Manchester United team had been outplayed and condemned their "shoddy" defending on a night which ended with Cristiano Ronaldo reigniting fears over his future. Ferguson: "We were well beaten, the better team won and there's nothing we can do about it now, there's a disappointment in the performance, some individuals will feel it themselves when they look at how they played."?? However, Ronaldo said the defeat was in part down to Ferguson's tactics. Ronaldo: "We had 10 [good] minutes and then we never found ourselves again, the tactics were not good and everything went wrong." The forward also left his future open to doubt. Asked whether he would be at Old Trafford next season, he replied: "I don't know." United fans found his attitude disappointing, and beasted Ronaldo for voicing it to a Spanish Newpaper?..
