Sir Alex was brutal in his criticisms of players who did not live up to his expectations and were responsible for United exit from the FA cup, in reality this will have little impact other than to issue Man U with another wakeup call.
Again Sir Alex levelled criticism at ref Chris Foy?s ability to time keep, "That is an insult to the game and the players out there." Was Sir Alex furious reaction for the lack of injury time added on. You will remember that Sir Alex has already received a four match ban, with two of those suspended until the end of the 2010/11, for criticising referee Alan Wiley's fitness, plus a ?20,000 fine and a warning about future conduct, however Sir Alex still felt the need to complain about Foy?s ?five minutes? describing this as "an insult to the game". To sum up the match "Leeds deserved to win. They got breaks at times but deserved their luck, I'm disappointed," mulled Sir Alex..... After the match he also hinted that those players that flopped will be dropped.... "I didn't expect that performance, it was shocking. I've no complaints about the result," said Ferguson. Kayoko?s Arsenal will meet Stoke in the next round of the FA Cup after coming from behind to beat West Ham on Sunday, ironic really as Wenger has little time for the FA cup that will leave Arsenal with a Champions League tie against Porto in February plus premier league fixtures to contend with, a tough nut to crack ....."Of course we want to win trophies," said Wenger, whose last cup success was interestingly the FA Cup in 2005. Carlo Ancelotti gave Sturridge a gee up after suggesting he can help to fill the gap up front after Didier Drogba departs for the Africa Cup of Nations. Sturridge scored twice in Chelsea's 5-0 FA Cup tie and win with Watford to celebrate his first goals since joining Chelsea from Manchester City, but as for filling Drogba?s boots well Sturridge just does not process Drogba?s physical presence on the pitch, having quipped about Chelsea's immediate prospects, Ancelotti tried to defuse the situation over the interview Malouda gave to French newspaper L'Equipe, Malouda talked about the frustration at Ancelotti's failure to give him more first team appearances which brought a response from Ancelotti that the matter was ?already closed? Transfer talk.... well Fulham is bracing himself for several bids for striker Bobby Zamora. Zamora took his total to 11 so far this season on Saturday and has hit the back of the net on six occasions in his last seven matches. City new boss Mancini wants all talk of new signings taken out of circulation until after Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final showdown with Man U. Word around the camp fire is that former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira will join with Mancini in the next few days after agreeing a loan deal from Inter Milan. Also Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez is doing his level best to dismiss speculation linking Liverpool with a January signing of Real Madrid's Dutch striker and Man U legend Ruud van Nistelrooy. Banitez said: "I don't want to talk about individual players or names, but we are not trying for Ruud van Nistelrooy, so that will be very difficult to bring him in. "We are working hard on getting some players in and have had some good talks, but my priority now is talking about good things with my players." The sound of desperation if I ever heard it.....As Gecko said in the film Wall Street ?transfers are for wimps?remember.....!! I will always believe that a manager has lost the art of motivation when he has to reach for the cheque book to make up for a poor season .... We will see..... |
