European Championships 2010 qualifier, England v Bulgaria Friday 3rd 8pm Wembley...
There is a preverbal black cloud hanging over the England team since the World Cup in South Africa, the booing at the friendly against Hungry and the fact that Fabio Capello seems unable to build a credible squad, calling upon Arsenal teenage rookie reserve keeper James Shea (which stinks of an attempt to make up the numbers) just to complete team training sessions. Kayoko has waxing lyrical about Theo Walcott?s recent ?rate of play?, impressive indeed, will Theo?s current form be on display on Friday, Theo, seemingly back in favour after been dropped for the World Cup, and gloriously immune from press cynicism, needs to raise his international game to another level, I just don?t think that Capello has the necessaries to motivate Walcott......Harry Redknapp has the ?dingle dangles? to lead an England squad to greatness, but the economics to replace Capello are just not presently viable ...... All the same Petrov (Bulgaria) could barely conceal his delight at Capello malaise......... ?Everyone knows that England have names and very good players. If you take every player from the team, they are very good players, but I don?t think they have a team. I don?t know why. In the middle and up-front, they have big names, they have a big manager too, but they just don?t do it,.............is it a good time to play England?, we don?t know yet because there are young players coming into the team who will want to show the manager that they deserve their place and, after their worst World Cup, everyone will want to show it, it?s a difficult time for England, for us, it?s ok, there is pressure for us, too, because we want to qualify, but I think there is more pressure for England because they are the big favorites, we also have some very good players, though, and, if we play like a team, stay compact, especially in the first minutes, I think we have a chance.? ......... Let be clear Dimitar Berbatov (29) announced his retirement from international footy in May so it is a little premature for Petrov to be reporting England?s demise.... Well about the Chelsea v Arsenal ? .......Oh I can see that Mr K has the Arsenal pink tuba out to polish, but as always it will be down to the unknowns.... the injury factor .....both John Terry and Lamps the ?Gramps? are out of contention for the next few fixtures, and frankly it is ironic that all?n?sundry are mourning their demise having been ruled out through injury, but their inconsistent form in South Africa should highlight the need for change and to have a sustainable continuity policy..... With all Wenger?s outspoken reticence against the implementation of the 25 man rule which is more semantics...... to ditch would make no economic sense, and Wenger?s public rejection that the 25 man rule will ever benefit the England team, he points to the numbers of foreign players in La Liga (Spain) as an example to illustrate how this will or can impact on the premiership economically...I think he is missing the point, the ruling was aimed primarily at the transfer market and is having a significant influence on the way managers need to concentrate on prioritizing there squads, and will achieve a level playing field eventually.... It won?t be painless, radical changes like these seldom are...... |
