THE DAY OF THE TONSILS !!!!!!

You've been with me for many years, you've been like a hidden friend, Now you're going and it'll take 2 weeks till I am on the mend.

You see as much as you've always been there, you've given me nothing but grief,
Keeping quiet yet making me ill, trying to be 'more than friends' with my teeth.

You were created to try and protect me, you were meant to be one of the 'fighters',
Instead you're a wimp and you gave up the fight. Getting beaten by Big Tonsillitis.

To say I will miss you would be a lie, I can't wait to see you go,
And I can't wait to have a good old 'sore throat', at least that'll go like, you know?

Nothing would shift you, you just wouldn't budge, not gargling, salt water or lockets,
The next time I feel you, I will feel you my last, and I'll be smacked up on antibiotics.

So the big day's tomorrow and whilst you're cut out, I'll be asleep I believe,
And before I awake, you prepare for a break and you pack up your things and just leave.

So 2 to 3 weeks I shall sit in my room, alone in self pity I shall wallow,
That's a bloody long time to be sitting alone, ironically it's too hard to swallow.

But when it's over tomorrow and I then wake up, there will no doubt be a tear in my eye,
But you won't be the reason, you pointless little sh*t, it'll be because of the pain.
