Full English Lyrics
1st Verse - Utada Mom, why is that The things we were brought up with Are destroyed by ourselves, as the days keep coming? The collage breaks into pieces But it?s not thrown away There?s nothing in my hands Even when you?re holding them... 2nd Verse - Raekwon The Chef I grew up on the crime side, the New York Times side Staying alive was no jive Had secondhands, Moms bounced on old man So then we moved to Shaolin Land A young youth, yo, rockin' the gold tooth, low goose Only way I began to G off was drug loot And it started it like this, son Rollin' with this one and that one, pullin' out gats for fun But it was just a dream for the teen, who was a fiend Started smokin' woolies at 16 And running up in gates, and doing hits for high stakes Making my way off fire escapes No question I would speed for cracks and weed The combination made my eyes bleed No question I would flow off and try to get the dough off Sticking up white boys in ball courts My life got no better - same damn low sweater Times is rough and tough like leather Figured out I went the wrong route So I got with a sick, tight clique and went all-out Catchin' keys from 'cross seas Rollin in MPV's, every week we made 40 G Yo, brothers, respect mine, or anger the Teck 9 Chick-POW! Move from the gate now! 1st Chorus - Hikki & Method Man Be my last, be my last, be my last Be my last - please, you have to be my last... Cash rules everything around me C.R.E.A.M, get the money - dollar, dollar bill, y'all Cash rules everything around me C.R.E.A.M, get the money - dollar, dollar bill, y'all 3rd Verse - Inspectah Deck It's been 22 long hard years and still strugglin' Survival got me buggin, but I'm alive on arrival I peep at the shape of the streets And stay awake to the ways of the world 'cause s**t is deep A man with a dream with plans to make cream Which failed - I went to jail at the age of 15 A young buck sellin' drugs and such who never had much Trying to get a clutch of what I could not touch The court played me short, now I face incarceration Pacin', knowin' upstate's my destination Handcuffed in back of a bus, 40 of us Life as a shorty shouldn't be so rough But as the world turned I learned life is hell Living in the world no different from a cell Everyday I 'scape from Jakes givin' chase, Sellin' base, smokin' bones in the staircase Though I don't know why I chose to smoke sess I guess that's the time when I'm not depressed But I'm still depressed, and I ask, "What's it worth?" Ready to give up, so I seek the Old Earth Who explained working hard may help you maintain To learn to overcome the heartaches and pain We got stickup kids, corrupt cops, and crack rocks And stray shots, all on the block that stays hot Leave it up to me while I be living proof To kick the truth to the young black youth But shorty's running wild smokin' sess, drinkin' beer And ain't trying to hear what I'm kickin' in his ear Neglected for now, but yo, it gots to be accepted That what? That life is hectic 4th Verse - Hikki Unknown friends told me to do my best But this love was a mistake No, it wasn?t a mistake There?s nothing to grasp with my hands... How far will this dream go? 2nd Chorus - Hikki With my hands, with my hands, with my hands With my hands, with my hands, be my last 5th Verse - Hikki Rather than being together some day, I would be with you tonight, just for a hour Who is the adult? Whose connected hand is still empty? 3rd Chorus/Outro - Hikki & Method Man Cash rules everything around me C.R.E.A.M, get the money - dollar, dollar bill, y'all Cash rules everything around me C.R.E.A.M, get the money - dollar, dollar bill, y'all Be my last, be my last, be my last Be my last - douka kimi ga be my last... Cash rules everything around me C.R.E.A.M, get the money - dollar, dollar bill, y'all Cash rules everything around me C.R.E.A.M, get the money - dollar, dollar bill, y'all, yeah |

Blend Title: Be My Last Vs. C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)
Genre: J-Pop/Hip-Hop/Rap Artists: Utada Hikaru & The Wu-Tang Clan Albums Involved: Ultra Blue (Hikki, 2006), Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) (Wu-Tang Clan, 1993) Mixer: Carlo (yours truly) Comments: Be My Last is my favorite Hikki track in terms of being heartbreakingly sobering, if you know what I mean, and I recently almost kicked myself for not yet having paired it with quite arguably the most legendary introspective rap song ever recorded in C.R.E.A.M. The product is Hikki singing about how she wishes for hard times to end while Raekwon and Inspectah Deck rap about topics including growing up with no father, resorting to drug dealing, being arrested and jailed, and emerging with a new view of society, while Method Man helps with the chorus. Warning: References to drug use, drug dealing, and robbery, plus profanity (this is the clean version, though) MegaUpload.com download link (song is an MP4 file, which is QuickTime compatible) |
