Utada News : "Come Back To Me" - Island Def Jam site audio update
Its official, as first reported here, Utada's upcoming US single will be titled "Come Back To Me". Island Def Jam's site for Utada has now been updated with a splash page featuring a full preview for her upcoming American single "Come Back To Me"!

Not that it is bad.. but its not incredible. I guess that is something about getting older.. I don't enjoy music with lyrics like this.. it is made to sell to a younger American audience. I want to see a more mature UH. Oh well, I guess that is the cost of breaking in the mainstream.. but Hikki.. why do you have to go mainstream in the USA. I'd much rather see you produce a real work of art then this and I think many people my age could agree.. things like cheating don't occur as often in your 20s and on.. and I think people are smart enough to know if she cheats not to go back even if she sings and crys "baby come back to me." Regardless, I really do enjoy the instrumentals and the beat. GJ in that respect.. I'm looking for the type of sound you make for my music.. but there is no way to emulate your sound without coming off as a copycat. I guess I need to think outside the box. (but you didn't make this, your producer set it up.. or did you?) |

As an american international singer-songwriter myself i kinda have to disagree with my friend uptop, the single is amazing very laid back with an incredible song and instrumental the lyrics are simple yet strong, for american markets this a perfect song to help her hit the charts. for japan i agree no way to simple i write an i have learn writing japanese songs are incredibly deep, so i had to find i could go alot more deeper with my japanese music than my american songs even though im deep anyway lol. But to Island records and Utada i wish u the best hikki incredible over the years and i hope when i get ready to make my album then i can work with her cause shes amazing!!!
